Seeing begins in the brain

Empowering children and families through expert orthoptic care for those with visual impairment and neurological differences.

We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to see, learn, and engage with the world meaningfully.
We work with caregivers, parents, specialists, allied health professionals and education providers to support individuals with vision processing challenges - CVI (Cerebral Vision Impairment).
We assess visual strengths and difficulties, distinguishing whether challenges stem from brain-based processing, eye-related conditions, or both.
By building a clear picture of each person’s unique visual profile, we aim to improve both visual function and day-to-day accessibility. Through orthoptic evaluation and close collaboration with caregivers, we create tailored, goal-oriented intervention plans that are practical, easy to implement, and designed to make a meaningful difference.

Our approach is mobile, collaborative, and child-centred.
Flexible, On-Site Assessments
We conduct functional vision assessments in the home, school, workplace, and community settings to understand how vision impacts daily life in real environments.
Education and Support for the Team Around the Child
We educate families, care-givers, educators, and health professionals to better understand the child’s specific visual needs and how to support their development.
Individualised Visual Development Plans
We design customised therapy programs to build visual skills such as visual attention, tracking, eye movement control, and functional use of vision. For interventions to be engaging and meaningful, we also implement the individual's interests.
Environmental Modifications
We provide practical recommendations for adapting the home, classroom, or play space—including lighting, flooring, toys, books, and room layout—to maximise visual accessibility and reduce barriers.
NDIS-Compliant Reports
We provide comprehensive reports to support NDIS plan reviews, funding for therapies, equipment, assistive technology, and ongoing orthoptic support.

We take a holistic look at how an individual sees, understands, and uses vision in daily life. Some of the areas we explore include: :
Visual Function
The ability of the eyes and visual system to process visual information.
Binocular Vision
How well the two eyes work together as a team to support depth perception, coordination, and comfortable vision.
Eye Movements
The ability of the eyes to move smoothly, fix on objects, and align properly for t.asks like reading or tracking movement.
Functional Vision
How well an individual uses their vision in everyday activities like playing, moving, or learning. Behaviours thfunctional vision include:
