About Us

the seeing brain provides mobile functional vision assessment and support with a focus on how vision is used in everyday life.
Seeing begins in the brain. When the brain develops differently or has been affected by injury, it can affect how visual information is processed and used—often in ways that aren't identified through standard eye tests.
Services are delivered in real-world environments—including the home, school, workplace, and community—allowing vision to be assessed and supported where it matters most.
Supporting individuals and families across Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Ispwich, the Sunshine Coast and regional Queensland.
Meet your orthoptist - Krish

Hi, I’m Krish. I'm an orthoptist who believes vision is about much more than seeing clearly—it's about how we move, learn, communicate, and participate in everyday life.
I have over eight years of experience helping people make the most of their vision. After training at La Trobe University, I have worked across Melbourne, Adelaide, and now Brisbane, gaining experience in a range of clinical settings.
Early in my career, I focused on assessing and treating specific visual symptoms in clinics. Over time, I realised that the biggest challenges my clients experienced often weren't explained by an eye chart alone. Vision influences every part of daily life, and understanding how someone uses their vision in the real world is just as important as measuring how well they see.
That realisation shaped the way I practise today.
I work with children whose vision has been affected by neurological, neurodevelopmental, or acquired brain conditions. Through mobile functional vision assessments, I meet people where life happens—in their homes, schools, workplaces, and communities. Assessing vision in familiar environments helps me understand the challenges people face every day and develop practical strategies that are meaningful, achievable, and sustainable.
As a mother, I also understand how overwhelming appointments, reports, and therapy recommendations can feel. My goal is to make the process collaborative, practical, and family-centred. Sometimes the most effective strategies are through favourite toys, a family pet, everyday routines, or simply finding a new way to approach a familiar task.
I believe every person is unique, and so is the way they use their vision. Rather than treating a diagnosis, I work alongside individuals, families, educators, and therapists to help people achieve the goals that matter most to them.
“I don’t treat a diagnosis—I help families reach the goals that matter most, using creative strategies that actually fit into daily life.”
